What can Bundled Notes do?

expand_more

Bundled Notes has a range of productivity, note-taking, and organisation features. The overall premise is simple: you create different 'bundles' to solve different problems.

Bundles are like notebooks in other applications, but with a greater range of unique configuration. You can control the layout, color, sorting, grouping, tagging and to-do functionality of each bundle to suit your needs.

Combined with a reminders system, Kanban column options, to-do functionality, powerful tags and a rich text editor, the possibilities of bundles are endless.

What are bundles?

expand_more

Bundles are basically notebooks that you make to store and organise different things. Each bundle can have different notes, different sort orders, different tags & a different look and feel.

For example, you might have a grid bundle that looks like Google Keep for your regular notes, a list bundle to keep track of movies and shows you want, and then a Kanban boards bundle for keeping track of a project you are working on. Each bundle is like a mini-app in itself, designed to solve a particular productivity or note-taking problem.

Can I import my notes from another service (Keep/Evernote etc.)?

expand_more

Not yet, however this is a core feature on the roadmap.

What is the security/encryption model?

expand_more

Bundled Notes follows the standard encryption-at-rest & encryption-in-transit model that many note-taking services like Keep, Evernote and others follow.

However, end-to-end encryption is not currently supported, and a future update is planned with end-to-end encrypted bundles. Check out the roadmap for more details.

Can I get a lifetime subscription?

expand_more

Bundled Notes is still a solo-developer project and as a user myself, I fully understand why one-time purchases are preferred.

Unfortunately, Bundled is not a simple, local app. It's a cross-platform service designed to match the experience of preinstalled note-taking apps, with web access and seamless cross-device syncing.

The costs to maintain this are ongoing and growing - and it doesn't make financial sense for me to offer a one-time purchase. If new one-time purchases slowed down, the app may not earn enough to cover the cost of running it.

I'm not highly profit-motivated, which is why I haven't - and won't - include ads. But, to maintain Bundled notes in the long term, I need a consistent revenue stream, and a subscription model is currently the only way I can ensure that.

I hope you understand, and I hope you'll consider supporting the app with a subscription. If I can help with any questions, or you have circumstances that make the app unaffordable, please don't hesitate to reach out below.

Why doesn't Bundled Notes support self-hosted data?

expand_more

When I first starting developing Bundled Notes years ago, I originally paused development when it was an offline-only app due to frustrations with the experience and limitations.

I picked the project up again one day because I found a new service, Firebase Firestore, that made it easy to make offline apps with seamless syncing. It automatically caches your data on-device data, while automatically and securely syncing it to the cloud and other devices.

So, even if it might be technically *possible* to implement self-hosting, the trade-offs are huge: I would have to pause current feature development to focus on implementing a completely different, more complex database system, deal with a raft of new bugs, performance conerns, syncing issues, and significantly slow cross-platform feature development. Rather than focusing on new features, a huge amount of my time would now be spent managing database compatability and stability. For one person, this is not feasible.

How do I request a feature?

expand_more

Make sure to check out the roadmap first, to see if the feature is already planned!

Otherwise, the best way to request a feature is to join the community on Reddit or Discord, and share your idea with other users. If it's a popular idea, other users will back it up, and I'll be more likely to prioritise it.

If you'd like to suggest a feature privately, scroll down to the contact section and send me a message!

bug_report

How do I report a bug?

expand_more

It can be worth checking if users have reported the bug on the Discord or Bundled subreddit! If a bug report is well known or has been reported many times, an automated reply may be used.

If your query is not answered in the FAQ, and you couldn't find an answer with a quick search on social media, please contact directly at: support@bundlednotes.com
